  Flashes of orange, of goldA dancing candle’s glowSliding arms through coatsGusts, encirclingWhen it did gray replace blue? Closing windows, opening cabinetsSo much candySo much candyEverything is layeredEverything inside, everything outside OctoberHow did that happenSo abruptWith such graceA fluttering finger, touching the wind (and still, so much candy) I’m relieved. I’m unsettled.
